WARSAW: The 6th Silesian Aviation and Drone Days Conference is approaching and will be held this June in Katowice. This event stands as one of the largest of its kind in Poland’s aviation and drone sector.
Table of Contents
Organized by the Silesian Aviation Cluster, the conference serves as a platform to showcase Poland’s aviation industry experience to entrepreneurs and partners from both domestic and international spheres. It highlights the collaborative efforts between Polish businesses, academia, and the support from local governments, central administration, and institutions that facilitate innovation and enterprise.
A Broader Focus: Civilian and Military Applications
While previous editions focused primarily on light aviation and drone industries, this year’s discussions will encompass both civilian and military applications. Invited guests will present aviation and drone technology as key components of dual-use technologies—products with both civilian and defense applications.
Juliusz Bolek on Drones
“Aviation is a vital part of the Polish economy,” says Juliusz Bolek, Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Business. “Poland has three helicopter manufacturers. But the drone market is where the most dynamic growth is occurring. Their uses are still being explored, from logistics to healthcare. The Russia-Ukraine war is largely a drone war. These are relatively inexpensive technologies capable of neutralizing significantly more costly weaponry. And when we talk about drones, we should also remember underwater drones,” Bolek adds.
