Eneris in Arrears with Payments to the General Contractor of the Landfill Renovation in Kielce

Eneris in arrears

KIELCE: The company Eneris is in arrears with a massive sum – according to the Hajp Media portal, the company responsible for waste collection in Kielce has not fully settled accounts with the general contractor of the major renovation of the landfill on Zagnańska Street. The unpaid obligations currently amount to around PLN 14 million (≈ 3,29 mln EUR).

Eneris in arrears to the general contractor – financial troubles and the company’s past

Eneris Surowce Kielce sp. z o.o., established at the beginning of 2024 following the split of Eneris Surowce Usługi S.A., is responsible for waste management in the capital of the Świętokrzyskie region. The company, part of a larger capital group, has already faced difficulties in service delivery. As Hajp Media reports, in 2022 it was fined PLN 1.5 million for problems with waste collection.

In 2024, Eneris was the only company to take part in the tender for waste collection services in Kielce. Its offer amounted to PLN 108 million for three years of service – but this was PLN 18 million higher than the budget allocated by the city. According to local media, this sparked controversy even before the contract was signed.

A key renovation and dispute with the contractor

To ensure operational continuity, the company had to carry out a renovation of the transport and storage base on Zagnańska Street. The chosen contractor was the Warsaw-based company Giga Service, which committed to completing the investment in a very short time.

– We completed the project in just two months. Other companies would not have been able to do it so quickly. The completion deadline was crucial for the investor. Otherwise, the landfill would not have functioned. We achieved something nearly impossible – said Michał Klekowicki, a partner at Giga Service, in an interview with Hajp Media.

The works were completed on schedule, and the final acceptance took place in the autumn of 2024. Nevertheless, almost ten months later the general contractor claims it has still not received full payment.

Eneris owes Giga Service PLN 14 million (≈ 3,29 mln EUR)

According to representatives of Giga Service, the lack of a payment guarantee forced the company to withdraw from the contract. At present, Eneris owes them approximately PLN 14 million in remuneration. The case is set to go to court.

Michał Klekowicki stresses that the situation is outrageous: – As the general contractor, we bent over backwards to meet the investor’s expectations. Yet almost ten months after the project’s completion, we still haven’t received the money due. This is a massive burden for our company.

No response from Eneris

Journalists from Hajp Media tried to obtain a comment from Eneris. Customer service redirected them to the consortium’s press office. However, despite multiple attempts – both by phone and email – no response has been received so far.

The company’s silence on its liabilities towards the general contractor raises questions about its financial standing and its future in carrying out public contracts.

What’s next?

The dispute between Eneris and Giga Service will have to be resolved in court. Unpaid invoices totaling PLN 14 million could seriously affect both parties. For Kielce, the key question remains: will Eneris’s troubles affect the continuity of waste collection in the city?

The case is stirring increasing emotions among residents and market observers. One thing is clear: the Eneris story illustrates the risks of entrusting public service operations to a single company. Until the conflict is resolved in court, a shadow of uncertainty will continue to hang over waste management in Kielce.

Eneris owes PLN 14 million – what kind of company is this?
