Dubai as a global laboratory of innovation: ArabLAB Live 2025 as a record-breaking event for science and technology

Polish NEWS – DUBAI: From 23–25 September 2025, Dubai reaffirmed its role as a global hub for science, laboratories, and analytical technology. During the 43rd edition of ArabLAB Live 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, more than 150 speakers took the stage, over 1,000 brands from more than 100 countries showcased their solutions, and the Sheikh Saeed 1–3 halls and the Trade Centre Arena welcomed thousands of specialists. The program was dominated by themes such as artificial intelligence in laboratories, sustainable “green” facilities, standardization, and the localization of diagnostic technologies.

ArabLAB Live 2025: opening, scale, and main highlights

ArabLAB Live 2025 is now the longest-running and largest trade show and conference for laboratories and analytics in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). This year’s edition was record-breaking in terms of attendance and program scope. For the first time, a full three-track conference program was prepared, and the content offering was reinforced by two new features: the Startup Zone and the Scientific Poster Zone. “In a world where artificial intelligence is changing everything we do, ArabLAB Live 2025 proves that nothing can replace human connection, collaboration, and live events that drive real progress,” the organizers said at the opening, emphasizing the value of face-to-face meetings and knowledge exchange.

Names, stages, and themes: AI, standards, sustainable laboratories

The program covered the Digital Lab, ArabChem, and EnviroTech tracks and featured talks by key figures from government and industry. The agenda included, among others, presentations on implementing AI in public-sector laboratories—such as the address by H.E. Eng. Abdulla Al Muaini of the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council: “From data to intelligence: how to leverage AI in the Central Testing Laboratory to strengthen quality, safety, and innovation in Abu Dhabi’s public health.” This reflects a consistent trend in which Dubai and the United Arab Emirates prioritize the use of data analytics for regulatory, health, and environmental goals.

There was also a strong emphasis on standards and normalization. ASTM International—the official standards partner—organized a series of talks in Dubai, including a keynote by President Andy Kireta. “ASTM International is always proud to support such an important global event,” said Nick Ecart, Director of Business Development for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. “Every year we look forward to ArabLAB Live 2025 because it allows us to show professionals the value of our high-quality standards and services.” In the Gulf region, the organization highlighted the role of standards in robotics and automation, materials testing, process chemistry, and in designing and auditing digital laboratory data flows.

The stages also strongly featured the transformation of laboratory infrastructure toward sustainability. The program included sessions on what a regenerative, energy-efficient laboratory looks like and how to deliver one in practice—which, in rapidly modernizing Dubai, has both technological and urban dimensions. “Sustainable laboratories are not just buildings—they are ethical commitments,” speakers stressed, pointing to the growing importance of energy efficiency, air and water quality, and the carbon footprint of research facilities.

The Gulf region and quality standardization: who said what

ArabLAB Live 2025 strongly highlighted the contribution of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries—the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman. Panels on “future-proof” laboratories discussed digitalization, the evolution of standards, and sustainability. In the day-two previews, organizers listed, among others, the session “Future-proofing GCC laboratories,” featuring the Saudi Accreditation Center, Dubai Science Park, and environmental organizations.

Amina Ahmed, Director General of the Emirates International Accreditation Centre (EIAC), spoke about the role of accreditation in developing the region’s quality infrastructure: “Accreditation plays a key role in building resilient, quality-driven laboratory systems.” Meanwhile, Hatan Alsaigh of Saudi Arabia’s National Livestock & Fisheries Development Program emphasized that localizing diagnostic technologies “is not a luxury—it is a strategic necessity for health sovereignty.”

ArabLAB Live 2025: exhibitors, countries, stages

In 2025, more than 1,000 brands presented at ArabLAB Live 2025, and participants arrived from over 100 countries. Thousands of visitors explored the broadest range of topics in the show’s history—from robotics and automation, through industrial chemical processes, to forensics and safety—as well as LIMS/ELN systems, instrument connectivity solutions, and auditable laboratory data streams. “ArabLAB Live 2025 is the world’s largest event in laboratory science and instrumentation,” partners and exhibitors stressed in their communications. The organizers added: “Over three days we saw halls filled with innovation, and conference stages bursting with bold ideas, intense debates, and world-class analyses”—a fitting description of the pace and scale of this year’s edition.

As project director of ArabLAB Live 2025, Erik Heath put it—this year’s edition stands out thanks to combining the formats of a trade fair, exhibition, and congress. “This year’s edition is a turning point thanks to the launch of the conference program and the startup zone, as well as record international participation,” Heath said in an interview with the media.

ArabLAB Live 2025: exhibitors, countries, stages

In 2025, more than 1,000 exhibitors and brands presented at ArabLAB Live, and participants came from over 100 countries. Materials from the standards partner refer to thousands of visitors and the broadest topic range in the show’s history—from robotics and automation, through industrial chemical processes, to forensics and safety. “ArabLAB Live is the largest global event in laboratory science and instrumentation,” ASTM emphasized in its release. The event also recorded the highest attendance in its 43-year history.

“Over three days we saw halls filled with innovation, and conference stages bursting with bold ideas, intense debates, and world-class analyses,” the organizer summed up, also highlighting “the irreplaceable value of face-to-face meetings” in the AI era. Indeed, ArabLAB 2025 became this year not only a major exhibition but also a center for debate on AI ethics in pharmaceutical research, standardization, and “green” laboratories. The event confirmed that the GCC (the Gulf Cooperation Council) region is accelerating investment in quality and accreditation, while Dubai is cementing its status as a hub for laboratories, analytics, and regulation.
