Dubai opens the door to the future of the printing industry

The inauguration of SGI Show 2025 featured dignitaries including H.E. Butti Saeed Al Ghandi, Vice Chairman of the Dubai World Trade Centre. „SGI Dubai has always been a decision-makers show,” stated Abdulrahman Falaknaz, President of International Expo-Consults (IEC), during the opening ceremony, emphasizing the event’s role as a place where real investment decisions are made. This year’s edition focused on automation, sustainability, and data analytics in printing processes.

From the very first day, there was immense interest in new solutions, particularly in on-demand production, textile printing, and commercial displays. SGI Show 2025 — a stage for a technological revolution

There was no doubt that artificial intelligence (AI) was one of the key themes of the 2025 edition. The second day, September 23, was dominated by panel discussions within the Knowledge Series, featuring representatives from companies such as Al Rabeta, XESS Group, Heliozid Oce, and HAK Plus. Among the speakers were Khaled El-Sheikh, Marketing Director at Al Rabeta, and Charlotte Cogger, Client Relationship Manager at Plyrix.

The panelists unanimously emphasized that artificial intelligence is not a threat but a catalyst for transformation. It enables innovative graphic designs, automates production processes, and shortens order fulfillment times. Particularly in the promotional gifts industry, where creativity is key, AI is bringing innovations that were previously unreachable. „Artificial intelligence is not a choice — it’s the way forward” („Sztuczna inteligencja nie jest wyborem — to droga naprzód”) was one of the most memorable quotes from the panel.

As Abdulrahman Falaknaz noted in an interview with PrintWeek MENA: „SGI Dubai is more than an event — it’s the epicenter of innovation and strategic business growth.”

First-hand innovations: from LED solutions to advanced UV printing

For industry professionals, one of the main attractions of SGI Show Daily 2025 was the exhibitor booths showcasing cutting-edge solutions. NOAF Advertising drew attention with its offering of advanced printing machines such as the Oric Flatbed UV Machine, Oric Hybrid UV, and Docan 3.2m Roll-to-Roll UV Printing Machine. With high precision and versatility, these machines garnered strong interest from industry experts.

LED Corner presented a complete range of lighting solutions aimed not only at commercial advertising installations but also at individual customers. The company holds a strong position in the UAE market, operating through a network of 10 branches. Notably, LeDiamond Opto showcased modern lightboxes with quick graphic replacement options and uniform illumination.

Decorative wall solutions also featured prominently. Heliozid Océ, regional distributor for Mimaki, presented a large-format mosaic printed on acrylic featuring a reproduction of Vermeer’s „Girl with a Pearl Earring.” The booth attracted visitors not only for print quality but also for demonstrations of Mimaki’s technology, such as UV printing with 3D effects or the „Day & Night” mode, where the image changes depending on light direction.
